Did you start your NQT year before September 2021 and you still have terms to complete?
Are you in your Second Year of Teaching?
|ECT(s)||Early Career Teacher(s). Those starting induction from September 2021|
|NQT+1 (RQT)||Recently Qualified Teacher who has completed their statutory induction|
|Legacy NQT||NQTs who have started but will not have completed induction by September 1st 2021|
What are the Changes?
L.E.A.D. Teaching School Hub Lincolnshire will become the Appropriate Body for Lincolnshire from September 2021 and will be working with partners to ensure a smooth transition of registration from current ABs for September 2021.
In some circumstances, NQTs may not have completed statutory induction by August 31st 2021. This may be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- part-time contracts
- induction which has been paused, due to extenuating circumstances
- extensions have been granted
- Starting your NQT induction later in the academic year 2020/21
Support and Continuity
We would like to reassure you that your current AB leader will still be your point of contact for any questions, support and concerns regarding your induction. The current Appropriate Body leader will continue to work in collaboration with L.E.A.D. Teaching School Hub Lincolnshire to ensure familiarity and maintain the high level of expertise that already exists in county.
The Current Framework
The pre-September 2021 cohort of NQTs will have until 1st September 2023 to complete statutory induction under the current guidance, last revised in April 2018. Click here to see a copy of this.
This will include:
- a reduced timetable of 80% teaching (10% PPA/10% NQT CPD time)
- the appointment of an Induction Tutor to meet with regularly
- an individualised programme of support and monitoring
- CPD opportunities, observations (1 every half term) involvement in departmental planning, visits to other schools (Covid-19 permitted)
NQTs +1 (RQTs)
What are the Changes?
In recognition of the challenging initial teacher training and induction newly qualified teachers (NQTs) have experienced due to the pandemic, all state funded schools that currently have an NQT who is due to complete induction by the summer of 2021 will have access to a one-off payment to further support their development.
